Cold and Flu Tea
- 1 part fresh ginger – great for warming the body, and opening the sinuses.
- 1 part fenugreek – natural expectorant.
- 2 parts fresh water
- Honey
- Lemon
- Grate or mince the ginger and place in a pot with the fenugreek and water.
- Allow to simmer for 10 minutes.
- Add Honey and Lemon to taste.
This one I found many years ago in a wonderful book called Wise Concotions by Bonnie Trust Dahan
This is a restorative that helps spark the metabolism by creating heat and energy. This is also great for circulation and helping digestion
Metabolic Tonic
- 5 cinnamon sticks, broken in half
- 2 half-inch slices fresh ginger root
- ½ teaspoon cardamom seeds
- ⅛ teaspoon whole cloves
- 3 cups purified water
- Combine all the ingredients and simmer until the tonic reduces slightly. Strain and drink hot or iced.
This one is also from Wise Concoctions and benefits several internal systems. Ginger and Cayenne warm and stimulate the heart and circulatory system. Lemon helps tissues contract and release mucous, which cleanses toxins from the system. Lavender calms the nervous system. 
Supersonic Tonic
- 21/2 cups purified water.
- 1-inch piece fresh ginger root, peeled and grated, or finely chopped.
- 1 tablespoon dried, or 2 tablespoons fresh lavender flowers, chopped
- 1 lemon, juiced
- 2 tablespoons honey
- ⅛ teaspoon cayenne pepper
- Bring the water to a boil and cool slightly.
- Combine the ginger and lavender flowers in to a bowl or teapot
- Add the hot water and allow to steep for 10 minutes.
- Strain and add lemon juice, honey, and cayenne pepper.
- Stir well and sip slowly.
